Himalaya White Tips organic White tea from Nepal

The Nepal Himalaya White Tips organic white tea is a tea coming from the Nepal fresh slopes where, thanks to expert tea masters, it develops its characteristic botanic and slightly sweet flavors capable of giving a refreshing sensation during the tasting.

This white tea from Nepal represents a good example of a high quality tea produced out of China and Taiwan where the production is usually make on a larger scale. The leaves of this tea grow on some slopes in the north of Nepal where the height and the less human contaminated environment allow the plants to develop in a healthy way. The plantations in these areas are still quite new but despite their age they already give pleasant flavors when infused. Another important feature to consider is the number of buds, easily recognizable for their white/silver color, because, thanks to their considerable caffeine content, they indicate how much energized this tea is. Nevertheless there are also some leaves which moderate the caffeine impact but, surely, the flavors of this infuse is really different from the cup of black liquid we order in a cafe.

The infuse starts showing off a strong vegetal and fresh taste which remind the eucalyptus and then it reveals other flavors reminding sage and mountain herbs. The fresh impact of this tea is surely related to the cool environment where the plantations grown but, beside this feature, there is also a light citrus taste which exalts the freshness and complete the ensemble of vegetal flavors.

Place of origin

The leaves after the harvest whiter under the sunlight for a while before going into the next step where, indoor, they dry naturally or helped with hot air. The processing of this tea is really simple because wants to let the leaf dry really slowly and maintain a low level of oxidation in order to not change too much the vegetal flavors but allow the product to gain more structure and body. Once dried the leaves are sorted and then they are ready to be consumed.

We invite you to brew this tea in the traditional Chinese style (gong fu cha) in order to extract more from your leaves. Following this preparation you could use 5 grams of leaves (about 3 teaspoons) in a gaiwan of 100 ml so you can obtains more infusions with different flavors. After a brief rinse of the leaves in a 85°C water you can go with a first infusion of 10 seconds and, after that, at the same water temperature, you can do multiple infusion adding 5 seconds every steeping time (10 - 15 - 20 ...) These leaves could be steep about 6 times.

To prepare the tea in the western style we suggest 3 grams of leaves (about 2 teaspoons) in a 150 ml cup with 90°C water for a steeping time of one minute and an half.

The tea could be filtered if you want to avoid some little piece of the leaves during the tasting time and also the steeping time we recommend here could be modify on your personal preferences.

We recommend you to store this tea in a dry and cool place avoiding the direct sun light on the leaves.
