Pulled pork smoked with black tea

Smoked in the barbecue slowly and at low temperature for several hours, the pork shoulder acquires a unique flavor that will win everyone over during your BBQ.

Ingredients for the brine

  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 cup of salt
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon of black peppercorns
  • 1 cup of black tea, we have chosen our Purple Bud Red Tea

Mix all the ingredients in a pot bring to a boil. Add the pork shoulder to the brine and let it rest for at least 8 hours.

Black Tea Smoking Ingredients

  • 1 cup of black tea
  • 5 cups of white sugar
  • 5 cups of salt

Mix the ingredients in a bowl, then make a packet with tin foil, pierce the packet on top. 

Place the packet at the top of your BBQ, lay the meat on the grill and let it cook on a medium-low heat for 4/5 hours.

The long lead times are really worth it. The pork shoulder will be succulent and with a unique smoked tea aroma.
